Hey, no fair having such a good memory when you archive everything!

As I understand it, Frank and Irene's Bar (I should know the street, but
forget it at the moment) was the scene where, in 1979, Buffalo Wings
were created by the son of the proprietors. It was after hours, he had
company, and some, but not all, of the refrigerators were locked,
thereby limiting his choices.

It's true that the original dish, pretty much as Huette has described
(margarine, not butter, and carrots and celery with the blue cheese
sauce), is more often than not "improved upon" by the addition of flour,
crumbs, or other coating on the wings, the sauce tampered with, usually
by using some bottled concoction like Heinz barbecue sauce as a base.
Often the crudite is omitted. The point is that once you leave Buffalo,
New York, it's quite possible that what you get when you are served
Buffalo chicken wings is not. That's not to say they're not good. Just
not Buffalo wings.

Adamantius, more than usually adamant this A.M.
