I can also see a grey area between the Knighthood and being a Pelican. A
knight that is taking that role seriously is serving their kingdom through
teaching the squires specifically and many others as well.

Serving by helping in many small and large ways at an event, always being
dependable for that sort of thing is good. However, I have associated
Pelican level service with service to the organization. That is, a
willingness to hold office at any level and probabaly a history of doing so
at varying levels from local to national. Also, while holding said
office(s), a commitment to making certain that you're deputy that is not a
deputy in name only.
