Broad beans or favas are common fare around the Mediterranean.  They
(presumably) did in Pythagoras in the 6th Century BCE and they were
certainly well known and widely used long before that (the word Neolithic
comes to mind).  While I don't have my references handy, I don't think you
can say putting favas in Palestine is an anachronism.
