year, the site doesn't include a modern kitchen to do it in. But with a
competent and well organized group, it could be done--either period, with
the host group providing fires, pots, shopping, kitchen help, etc., and the
cooks designing a feast suitable to the resources, or OOP using Coleman
stoves and the like.<

Actually, that's what we did at Pennsic this year in Caer Frig. Since
several of us from this List were there, me, Ras, Stefan, Elysant, and
Margali, with Badger next door, and Frederich stopping in frequently, we
mostly focussed on period food. Granted, we used modern cooking stuff, like
my gas grill and Coleman stoves, and pots and pans, but I also brought some
fire cooking utensils which I had smithed- they worked well enough, when we
used them, and I'm going to be making some improvements for next War- in
fact I'll be up at Andrew of Seldom Rest's place this weekend to do some
more work.

I even had a chance to try my hand at period Aztec- I made duck enchiladas,
of which the only complaint was that there weren't enough ;-)

While I'm thinking of it- Margali, I need a list of what you want me to make
for you. Has Rob found me any steel scraps of bar stock? Puck, if you want
to help, feel free. I have about a zillion empty wine bottles I've been
saving for your brewing endeavors, btw.

The World's Need

So many Gods, so many creeds,
So many paths that wind and wind,
When just the art of being kind
Is all this sad world needs.
