SC - Conversion Chart

I've been checking out the conversion chart at  <A

Here is a sample:
  UK          UK oz                Metric ml        US oz 
          1 quart       40                    1140           38.5 
          1 pint        20                     570          1 cup         10


Okay, is the rest of the chart this confusing?  How can a 20 UK oz. pint 
equal an eight US ounce cup and 10 US oz?
