It doesn't.  The ounces are equivalent in the Imperial and American
measures.  One cup UK is 10 ounces or 1.25 cups US.

One pint UK is also 560 g. or 560 ml .  It is also 1.25 lbs in both US and
UK measure.

What you have here appears to be sloppy conversion.
