SC - My mother's surgery.....

Well, folks, due to the hurricane, they didn't take her into the hospital
yesterday, which is just as well because according to the lady at the
hospital I talked to they lost electric for several minutes Thursday and the
emergency generators didn't come on. She hasn't been rescheduled yet because
the river is threatening to flood, and since it hasn't crested yet, they
don't know what kind of damage might be done- if it goes over the sandbags,
they'll have to turn off one of the substations which means the power to the
area will be off for a week. Will let you all know as I find out more.

She got a very nice card from Heidi(sp?) in Maine (she thinks) but the
return address was illegible, so please make yourself known- she'd like to
write you back. She was very happy about it ;-) As for any other letters,
mail hasn't been delivered in the last two days, so she hasn't got any.

She finally had come to grips with having to have the surgery, was ready for
it, and now she's got to go through the entire mental preparation thing
