Thanks, Bear- this is exactly the sort of info that I was looking for...
	
I'm beginning to think it was a combination of the overly warm day,
maybe a little less flour than needed, and over-proofing- it occurrs to
me that the phone rang at a bad time and that when I got back to the
kitchen the bowl was quite 'froofry', if you know what I mean...

The girls are eating it anyway but my son says "blecch!"
