i agree whole heartedly. I have a Bachelors in Primary Junior EDucation
(junior kindergarten-6th grade) and I would be very leary of any hot pans
anywhere near a person who was not of legal age (exageration). I did teach a
class of 5th graders a full day of "life with a medieval lady" I went in
persona and we made a pottage, I brought some confits, we sang and talked. I
also brought spices and a lucette for them to make their own shoelaces- it
was a lot of fun (for them as well, judging by their letters) Any way, I
chose "apprentices" to help with the chopping, stirring, etc and they were
invited one at a time to come up to the table or stove , whicever the case
was, and help out. They were never out of arms reach, and never allowed to
get out of the chair I had set up to sit on to be at the table. All "rules"
were talked about before we began, and I talked to the teacher ahead of time
to see if I had any potential "problem students" . I served the pottage with
the teacher handing it out, a "prized apprentice" was given honours to give
out the confits (all in little bags). If a lot of thought is given to the
dish, it can be done, but frying oil still makes me verrrrrry nervous.
I'm sorry for not posting some recipes, but as I mentioned earlier, I'm
eyeballs deep in research. If some recipes are brought up, I could help next
week by looking at the steps and giving some suggestions.
