>Yes that is mostly true. That is what I meant by
personal use. However, you cannot advertise that
alcohol is part of your menu, regardless of who pays
for it. No feast steward, feastocrat, kitchen god or
whatever you want to call the position can put alcohol
on the menu. The only alcohol allowed is what the
individual diner brings on his/her own. No taverns are
allowed at wars, regardless of who is paying for the
alcohol. And you still cannot offer alcohol as a
gift, or a promisory note for such, to any monarch
regardless of whether you are giving it as one
individual to another individual. <

Obviously, you have missed the start of this thread. The Lady Anya is making
this food and what not to offer her guests in her camp during an open house
at an SCA event. Now, the day the SCA decides what I can offer my guests in
my camp at a wet site is the day I leave the SCA, and I suspect the same is
true of Lady Anya, as well as most of the rest of the SCA. We are not
talking about a public feast at an SCA sponsored event- we are talking about
private hospitality offered to private visitors in the privacy of one's own
camp. I think your objections, while valid if she were serving feast, are
entirely invalid in this context. This is not a feast.

And I might add that your comments are also untrue outside the US. In
Canada, the only way that alcohol may be served on site is if the site gets
a special license and sells it. They are not allowed to bring their own.

The World's Need

So many Gods, so many creeds,
So many paths that wind and wind,
When just the art of being kind
Is all this sad world needs.
