How about Scullery Maid, or Galley Slave?  How about "He who is in charge of 
doing all of the cooking, and spends so much time in the kitchen that he 
doesn't get to enjoy the feast himself"?  Or, "He who might have gotten an 
AOA for all his hard work, if it weren't for those out-of-period pants he was 
wearing"?
