Best recommendation I can make is that you look at your local Sam's or Costco
and see if they have the plastic jars (in the refrigerated section, I think) of
whole peeled cloves of garlic. Or, if you don't need the whole cloves, you can
buy it minced.
If you insist on peeling them yourselves, a trick I was shown was to press down
on the clove with the flat side of a knife to crack the peel. That did seem to
work fairly well, and you don't get quite so much garlic juice on your hands.
The coffee based soap I mentioned in an earlier post also works on garlic....not
sure about the stainless steel thingee.
