IMO it has little or nothing to do with the carcinogenic properties, it has 
everything to do with the fact that it's an herb, anybody can use it, it 
can't be patented or controlled. Just like comfrey and about a thousand other 
herbs.

BTW, you can buy either in natural food stores, although in most cases the 
active stuff has been taken out to reduce the "risk".

Would that they could do something similar to bacon <sigh>.
