It is not that the mummies of Urumchi were vikings, they were caucasians
with typical caucasian build and coloration. They had european styled
textiles and grave goods.
The thrust of the study was to demonstrate that there had been cultural
peaceful contact between the locals and the immigrants.

Perfectly preserved Viking mummies on the Mongol Steppes, or some
such...
Pretty cool, but kind of throws a wrench into the works, I would
imagine.
Does this mean Stir Fry is a period Viking dish?
