I am indeed sorry she left. I am sorry if I contributed in any way, but
it's just as much her fault that she's leaving for not being willing to
stick it through, take insult when it comes and look at the meaning, rather
than the words said. Some of us, are pretty die-hard about periodicity,
It's hard to hide sometimes and words don't come out in the most diplomatic
of manners.
I disagree that it is expensive to ccook in a period fashion. Some of the
spices are expensive, such as saffron but a little doesn't cost that much.
A lack of cooking resources can be a problem, but asking always helps. I
got copies of some of the mose commonly used books simply by asking if I
can have photocopies. I find nothing wrong with the Miscellany as a source
for period recipes, and indeed it was my only source for well over two
years when I started going.
I agree that everyone makes a vaild contribution, and slamming of comments
are not the finest points of this list at present, but in turn one must
take the good with the bad and approach with a will to learn and not
necessarily run away when the posts point out you are wrong.

Ill judgement all round I would say. Don't lay it all on one party. Its
her choice to unsubscribe, but it's also the lists choice on how to react
to posts. We need a little more tolerance all round, her of our natures,
and we of her constraints
Just my 2c worth
