 Oh, Oh recipe please!!!!!  I love Gumbo and am always on the lookout for
 good recipes.

Since you asked:
Here are Two recipes.  One that serves four and includes a banana :-)     and 
one from my collection of Recipes that serve 50 or more, just in case you 
want to invite someone to dinner ;-)

SHRIMP AND OKRA GUMBO

1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 onion chopped
1 pound fresh okra, trimmed and sliced
1 pound tomatoes, peeled and chopped
1 large banana, peeled and sliced
1 pound shrimp, cleaned, shelled, deviened and coursely chopped
2 Tbsp lemon juice
Salt 
Cayenne pepper
1/2 cup boiling water  

Heat the oil in a large saucepan.  Add the onion and saute over low heat 
until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Stirring constantly, add the okra and cook over low heat for 2 minutes

Add the tomatoes, then the banana slices and mix thoroughly.  Simmer over 
moderately low heat for 5 minutes.

Add the chopped shrimp and lemon juice, then season to taste with salt and 
cayenne pepper.

Pour in the boiling water, cover and simmer until shrimp are pink and firm, 
about 10 minutes.

Adjust seasonings, transfer to a bed of boiled rice and serve.  Serves four.


SEAFOOD GUMBO for FIFTY

1 1/4 cups onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
3/4 cup oil
1 1/2 cups bread flour
2 qts tomatoes, canned and chopped
2 1/2 gallons chicken or beef broth (I like chicken better)
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 tsp paprika
2 Tbsp salt
1/2 cup parsley, chopped
2 cloves garlic, whole
2 bay leaves
1/8 tsp thyme, crushed
1 tsp pepper
2 cups okra, fresh, trimmed and sliced
2 1/2 cups (12 ounces) shrimp, cleaned, shelled and deviened
2 qts (1 1/2 pounds) Crabmeat, fresh.

Saute onion and minced garlic in oil.  Add flour and mix until smooth.  Put 
in a large pot and add tomatoes.  Stir until mixture thickens.  Add broth, 
celery, and seasonings.  Cover and simmer over low heat for 2 hours.  

Ten minutes before serving, add okra, shrimp and crabmeat.

If desired, remove bay leaves and whole garlic cloves before serving.  Serve 
with white rice.
