SC - harvesting sumac/web picture

Here in Maryland, we have two versions of plants that have woody staks ending in
brownish-red berries. One has the stalk standing upright, with the berries at
the termination of the stalk, looking something like a trunk of a tree with the
leafy crown issuing from it. The other has the woody stalk, but the berry bunch
hangs off in a droopy fashion. From your picture, I assume that the second one
is the sumac to which you refer. I had gathered from previous discussions that
it was the former.
Can you clear up my quandry?
