lover of brussels sprouts-and maybe the recipe would go good with my
cabbage that is looking so forlorne in the drawer of my fridge waiting
for inspiration...

Using a recipe I got from a Garde Manger chef I used to work with, I
make brussel sprouts with sauteed onions and bacon diced, salt and
pepper, honey and vinegar.

[though a WAG- quarted the brussels sprouts and rinse. Hold.
                            chop bacon and saute with onions til bacon
is crunchy and onions
                            are golden. remove, reserve.
                            saute the sprouts til just tender but not
crunchy, add back the bacon
                            and onions, mix 2 parts vinegar[cider] with
1 part honey, add to
                            the pot and simmer briefly,  salt and pepper
to taste...
                            alternately start with steamed sprouts, and
make the bacon onion
                            and aceto-dulce into a thick glazelike
sauce...]
