Well, one way around this although it may mean a bit more work, is to
write these letters up on a word processor the first time. This allows
you to edit and change things as you desire, use any spelling checker
that you might have, etc. Then print them out and then handwrite
your copies while looking at the printed masters. And yes this will
be more work than just handwriting them in the first place, especially
if you write different letters to each person. Of course you could
start with a master and then change it as you wish for each individual.
