They don't get the lactose out of milk, really, they add an enzyme called
lactase which breaks it down into simple sugars instead of leaving it in the
lactose form which upsets some people's tummies. (Those that don't make their
own lactase, anyway...) So it's still there, just smaller... You can get milk
and other dairy products with the lactase already added or you can buy it
yourself and take it before you eat any dairy. (Products such as Dairy-Ease,
etc.)
