Not to mention, if you read their requirements on the website, they want healthy
prefererably young folks, and as they require a picture of you, they are probably
also looking for appearance as well.

I watched a couple of shows, one the 3d or 4th in and one a week or so before
pennsic. I for one would not be popular, as I would craft my own hovel, I think
that the 'one luxury item' allowance was terribly missused by the people [they
were complaining about the taste of the food and how boring the eternal rice was.
A few of the luxury items brought were - a bible, a deck of cards, a musical
instrument, IIRC a walkman, and great Ghu only knows what else. I would have
brought poudre forte or douce, my lord would have brought garlic powder or that
nifty deck of cars that was designed for the military that shows the safe and
dangerous plants.] As to the bland food problem, my lord pointed out what a crapy
job they were doing foreaging. I would have coopted the use of that stupid frypan
that each team got and made salt from the sea water if I couldnt fins a nice
shallow depression in a sunny rock to make it in, tide pools are a great source
of seafoods. Many plants can be eaten safely [where the cards come in] not to
mention the various small critters that exist to feed those of us a bit higher on
the food chain. I may be handicapped, but I am NOT stupid! After living through
woodlands, mountain and coastal outward bound camps, I think I could do well.
margali
[not to mention what I learned from military friends of my Dads growing up, SERE
school is our friend! I suppose setting traps for the opposing team is frowned
on?]
