Actually, Alta-Dena stopped producing certified raw
milk about 10 years ago, when the Steuve family sold
Alta-Dena to Hueblein [sp?].  However, the Steuve
family continued to produce certified raw milk under
the label, "Steuve's Certified Raw Milk."  They had a
marketing contract with Alta-Dena to distribute their
product.  Unfortunately, Hueblein sold Alta-Dena to
another company last year and the new owners have
refused to continue the contract.  So, as of this
moment, neither Alta-Dena or the Stueve family are
producing raw milk.  The Stueve family have gone
bankrupt trying to fight city hall over the right to
sell raw milk to those who want to drink it.  Which is
why all of the dairyland in Chino has recently been
sold.  They were all Stueve dairies, and the family
needed to recoup their lost fortunes.  I am told that
the family is thinking of buying land elsewhere in
California and trying again.

There was a very long article in last week's Food
Section of the LA Times about raw milk. Apparently
there in only one dairy outside San Jose [Claravale]
producing raw milk, but in much smaller numbers than
the Stueves did.  Also, you can only find raw milk now
in health food stores and not in your local markets.
