This would agree with the Oxford Companion of Food,
which states that a medieval Azerbaijani ancestor of
baklava had 8 layers of noodles with a sweetened nut
filling.  Perhaps using this noodle version of qatâif,
one could approximate the Azerbaijani dessert?  Oh,
this is so exciting!  Guess what I am going to make
for dessert on Sunday?  I will post my experiments
next week, so let's not clog up the list with recipe
requests.  I will do so, when I have finished this
experiment.  Unless Cariadoc or someone else works
faster than I do ....
