This is definitely true.  I can't imagine how people cope with a laundry in
their kitchen!

I can't think why he does this.  "Choice Magazine" studies (admittedly old
ones, but I seriously doubt that things have changed all that much) showed
that they do nothing more than colour the water.  They do not help keep the
toilet clean and they have no real disinfecting properties. I remain amazed
that so many people use them...

Equally, the problem of someone dropping them in the cistern would certainly
prevent me from rinsing my acorns this way, too!

BTW, why does one have to leach acorns?  As a younger person I would eat the
occasional acorn which I picked up on my way past an oak tree.  Some were
sweet, some were bitter (like all hell, actually!  They got spat out in fast
measure - manners not withstanding!).
