Sigh. No need for serious political er, discussion here. I started this
thread when we were commenting on some tavern foods and I mentioned a
local bar with an English pub (psuedo) atmosphere and wondered, since
we had an "English" pub here, whether there were "American" bars over
there. This was meant as a joke, and even had a smiley face if I remember
correctly.

Sorta've along the lines of a tale I've heard about the Beni-hana (sp?) 
resturants. For those that aren't familar with these, they are a psuedo
Japanese resturant that are very theatrical with the "chef" chopping the 
meat and stir frying it etc the food at your table. Well, the name here 
in the US is Beni-hana of Tokyo. I've heard that Beni-hana also has 
resturants in Japan, but there they are called Beni-hana of the USA.

I have no idea of whether this is just an urban legend or not.
