French in England, yes, but I don't think bistro is the right term. A
bistro is an informalish, wine bar sort of place, with a [comparatively]
limited menu. The food a bistro produces is usually excellent, but more
on the lines of steak and frites, shellfish, maybe a daily ragout,
rather than a full, eclectic haute cuisine menu, which the Chateau
Anglaise definitely seemed to be.
