Museum of London, as Bear says. It was shown at the "Eating Out in London
1500 - 2000" exhibition, encased in a resin block, and merely noted that
it had been found in a Tudor rubbish dump. They didn't make any claims
other than that as far as I remember. To be honest, it looked just like
any old, blackened bannana skin to me! The bottled wine from that era was
much more interesting. Apparently it tasted like a fine sherry, although
they posit that it was originally more in line with a fruity, low alcohol
white wine.
