Citrus?  What was the recipe?  I've made it but there was no citrus in it.
As I remember it, panforte is honey cake of raisins and nuts spiced with
pepper.  There is a reference to it in (IIRC) a 13th Century source, but
there is no known recipe from within SCA period.  There should be some
reference to previous discussions in the Florilegium.
