They are beginning to build onto the east end of Farmer's Market and extending
it even further. I think there will be some new-style mall features like a
multi-plex cinema and that sort of thing as well as the "classic" section.

That would be Grand Central Market and yep, it's still there. Local
neighborhoods still have morning or afternoon "farmer's markets" with mostly
real farmers setting up trucks in a local parking lot; I go to the one in
Burbank on Saturday mornings. I got my quinces there a month ago. New citrus
should be coming in, should go check. Blood Oranges for those morning vampires!
