That's true. As a substitute, I created a fake peacock with a hollow bottom. 
I made it out of paper mache, totally covered it with the appropriate 
coloured feathers, lined the inside with foil, and using real peacock 
feathers made the tail that stood 3 feet high by 3 feet wide. I roasted a 
large chicken, placed it on a beautiful platter, and put the peacock over it. 
We paraded it around the room and served it to head table. 
It went over pretty well.
