Greetings,

Rumpolt (I know...LATE period at 1581)  lists a recipe for bear-paws. (I do 
not have it translated yet, but can attempt to do so tonight.) My 
recollection (from skimming it a few months ago) was that they were roasted 
in a fire till the fur came off... and then there was some additional 
preparation, perhaps even a sauce.  Will post tomorrow.
