No. The book I mentioned, The Great Household in Late Medieval England, is
based on existing account books from numerous households of nobles and others
of high rank. These books show how many were fed at each meal, etc, and the
information has been combined in charts showing when various households fed
their nobles and staff. The practice apparently appears in all the household
sources used to research the book. Nowhere does it mention that a single
household ate their main meal in the evening.
This book also refers to *Late Medieval* England. This is not the same as
*late period*. Late medieval England would equate roughly to the 14th and
15th centuries.
