There is a descripttion of a hand-washing water in Menagier, IIRC, I have a
recipe worked out and some info, but have to convert the files into word from
WP, and I'm helpless. My hubby is out of town at the moment, if you can wait
till Sunday, I'll forward the file to you. I found the Menagier recipe
"To make water to wash the hands at table Boil sage, then strain the water,
and let cool until it is luke-warm. Or instead you can use camomile or
marjoram, or rosemary and cook with the peel of an orange. And also laurel
leaves (bay leaves) are good for this."
