SC - A Silent Auction- Flower & Rosenbaum's Apicius

Hello everyone,

I am posting a notice for a silent auction that will be held on March 25, in 
the Shire of StarLeaf Gate during our event. I have obtained a second copy of 
Flower & Rosenbaum's translation of Apicius and am unable to decide on one 
person to give it  to. As such, I am hoping to raise some funds for a Cook's 
Guild that I started.
I know there are many people interested in this copy as it is considered to 
be the best English translation of Apicius and it is out of print. I will be 
cross posting this message to the Apicius at onelist, as there are individuals 
there who would be equally interested.

The book is in very good condition, it has the original jacket cover, no 
marks, no ripped pages, just some slight yellowing on the edges.

I paid $45 U.S. for my first copy so I will begin the auction at a base price 
matching that (I recall people finding it at $90, so this does not seem 
unreasonable). If you are interested in the book, I will accept bids from the 
list, but the shipping cost must be added to the amount upon issuing payment 
for it. 

I will accept bids up to March 25th at 7 am EST, enough to allow me to get 
ready to cook my feast. The bids will be kept confidential, and will be 
announced at the event. I will contact the person with the highest bid and 
request at that time that they send me a money order (cashing non Canadian 
cheques is very expensive) for the bid plus the shipping costs (as determined 
by Canada Post or your choice of delivery service). If the money order does 
not arrive within 1 week, I will then contact the next highest bid. 

I hope this is found to be a fair method. Thank you for your time in reading
