I'll admit it, i'm just a city hick.

I have paid visits to dairy farms in Pennsylvania (Mennonite) and 
Wisconsin (since i'm originally from Chicago, although i never met 
Mrs. O'Leary's cow). But i wouldn't know one milking from another, 
although i do have an idea of which end of the cow to milk and i can 
tell the difference between cows, bulls, and steers :-)

Having breastfed a child i do know a little about colostrum. It's 
very sweet, well, at least human colostrum is.

But i still have no idea of where to find either beestings or third 
milking after first feeding here in an urban environment, and i'm 
still not getting a good idea for a substitute, if one cannot find 
either of the above.

Any of you raised-on-or-near-a-dairy folk want to give a few clues?
