The first major Arabic documentation of coffee as a beverage contains an
account of a meeting between two notables where coffee was served.  IIRC,
one of these people was the Mufti of Yemen who was a major mover in creating
a coffee industry in Yemen and Aden.  From what is known of the man's life
and his death around 1454, the meeting is tentatively dated 1450.
