Um, not to criticize anyone who is kind enough to post a recipe, but
rather a question on how carefully one should read before posting, aimed
more at the author of the recipe: 16 ounces of wrappers for 14
dumplings? Those are awfully thick wrappers, aren't they?

Florence Lin, my unimpeachable authority on all matters pertaining to
Chinese dumplings, but not, it must be admitted, to Hawaiian ones, says
commercial wonton wrappers tend to range about 80-120 wrappers to the
pound, depending on thickness. Generally Americans tend to prefer the
thicker wrappers, while Asians prefer the more delicate thin, nearly
translucent ones. For this dish, with its gooey filling, you probably do
want the thicker ones, but 1.14 ounces per wrapper seems like a lot, so
be careful of typos, especially in recipes taken from the Web.
