> Now...where were those period bread recipes I wanted to try?

I don't know if that was a rhetorical question or not. But if you are
looking for bread recipes, you might want to check these files in the
FOOD-BREADS-GRAINS section of my Florilegium:
bread-msg (161K) 12/13/99 Medieval breads and grains.
bread-stuffed-msg (28K) 7/21/99 Period stuffed bread. Rastons. Recipes.
breadmaking-msg (190K) 1/14/00 Period bread recipes and re-creations.
brd-mk-flat-msg (49K) 1/14/00 Period flat or unleavened bread recipes.
brd-mk-sour-msg (36K) 1/14/00 Breadmaking -Period sourdough bread recipes.
flour-msg (42K) 12/ 3/99 Types of flour. Sources. Period flour.

I believe most of the bread recipes that have been given on this list are
now in these files. Please remember that less than half-a-dozen medieval
bread recipes survive. I believe those that have can be found in the
breads-msg file.
