On Tuesday night, February 1, NOVA is running the first of a five part
series on historical technology where "engineers and craftspeople re-create
technological wonders of the past."  The first of these (on February 1) is a
recreation of two medieval trebuchets.

In addition, the January issue of Smithsonian magazine features an article
about the process that the NOVA team went through in recreating these
trebuchets.  A synopsis of the article, along with some links to related
sites and past articles can be found at the Smithsonian site at

The article made for some interesting reading and I'm looking forward to
seeing the Nova program.
