Unfortunately, Lars this anecdote rings all too close to the truth for 
comfort sometimes. While occasionally you hear of a sucessful couple
where 
one partner is in the SCA and the other isn't, it is much more likely
that 
the couple splits up or the SCA member eventually drops the SCA.

If one partner is an ardent cook and the other isn't, compromises often
seem more easily done. Easpecially if the non-cooking partner likes to
eat.
