It shouldn't be a problem. It sounded though like she was trying to find it 
as a website, not a newsgroup. On AOL, to subscribe to a newsgroup, the 
member needs to click on the Internet icon, then "newsgroups" on the drop 
down menu. Click on "expert add" and type in rec.food.historic and click on 
subscribe. YOu will get a message that says "you have been subscribed to 
rec.food.historic" and a form for killfiles, etc... then all you need to do 
is go to Read my Newsgroups..
There are currently 64 messages on rec.food.historic.
