I suspect that the cautions I've received in the past were probably directed at
the "fake" versions of these items rather than the real stuff...though, to be
honest, they did use some ingredients in period foods that are not considered
safe to eat today...like ground up gems!  Thanks for the information,
though...and the next time I need some of any of this, I'll let you know!
