Yes, that is what I meant. I had a packet of thisa number of years ago, 
but it is now lost somewhere since I never could find a use for it as it 
was and never felt daring enough to try it in a spice grinder especially
after reading the comments of others. I just couldn't remember exactly
how the things were configured - whether they were spice chunks like 
wood or hard seeds. 

When I found I could get it already in the spice mix I wanted it for 
from the Pepperer's Guild at Pennsic, I bought it that way. Then when 
I learned more about period cooking (primarily from this list), I bought 
some powdered Galingale in a more recent trip to Pennsic.
