LOL, truth be known though, I thought that the judging was much better this
year (no, the fact that I won had nothing to do with that opinion really I
promise). I esp. liked the fact that the Kingdom MOAS made such a point
several times during the day that judges should feel free to address any
questions to the submitters. I know that a couple of judges did so with me
and with several other people I know of and that this helped to make both the
judges and the submitters feel more comfortable with the process and the
results.

I suspect that this is the more preferable road to travel. Though there has
been a judge or two whom I would like to see in stocks, the majority have
been both fair and encouraging. And I think that the majority of the
remainder would have been good judges if they had the opportunity to receive
some training in the judging process and felt comfortable asking questions of
the submitters. After all, we don't send a Marshall out in the eric without
a minimum of some training and knowledge that he understands the rules and
how the "game" is to be played. It is unfair in the extreme for us to give
little to no training to our A&S judges and then complain because we don't
think they are judging well. (hmm I better climb down off of this soapbox
soon before I get dizzy and fall off)

Anyway, my thoughts for the day.

Constance
