mentioned.
  I realize that this is quite a list and it may be too much, but we 
have the time to adjust, do research, seek out speakers and such, and 
iron out opinions and details.
PLEASE comment and give suggestions and such.  We want this to be a real 
success in showing not only what can be done with our animals in the 
SCA, but also the current level of knowledge available to us.

 I. Equine Care and Handling 
   a. period breeds of the horse, both those extinct and those current.
   b. period training methods?
   c. compatible training methods?
   d. period uses for the horse.
   e.anything else? Dressage? SCA equine competition? The ass/donkey in 
history

II. Canine
    a. history of Greyhounds and their racing/hunting
    b. other hunting dogs, spainiels and their kin
    c.. history of mastiffs and other 'butcher', guard dogs
    d. history of shepards 
    e. history of fiests and other small dogs
       Papillons, Pomeranians, Dauchtshunds, 
    f. anything else? curious extinct breeds? Talbots?

III. Poultry
     a. history of domestic chickens
         1. history of cockfighting
     b. history of domestic ducks and geese
         1. geese as a small labor source
     c. history of pigeons and doves
         1. carrier pigeons
     d. keeping wild exotics, ie.. ostriches, pheasant, peafowl
     in period. 
     e. practical poultry for the small holder
        Chickens, ducks, geese and pigeons.
     f. anything else?

IV Sheep
  a. an overview of period breeds and types of sheep
and their usage.
  b. types of wool and their handling?
  c. practical sheep keeping for the small holder

V Swine
    a. an overview of period breeds of swine.
    b. extant and extinct breeds

VI  Cattle 
   a. an overview of period breeds of cattle and their usage
   b. period dairy techniques
   c. the ox as a power source
   d. extant and extinct breeds of cattle
   e. anything else?

VII Cats
   a. an overview of feline breeds and their histories.
   b. Cats during the Black Death
   c. Cats before the B.D. 
   d. Cats in Judaism and Islam and Christianity.
   e. anything else?

VIII Other animals kept in captivity in period
    a. History of Menagries and Zoos
    b. The Elephant in period East and West
    c. The keeping of Ferrets and their kin
    d. The Camel in history
    e. anything else?

IX Animal Accuremonts
     a. the history of the saddle, bridle, ect... 
          making of same?
      b. dog leashes, collars, training tools
      c. equiping your birds of travel and handling
          wing clipping vs. brails
      d. Barding and livery for dog and horse and anything else

X Period slaughtering techniques for 
  poultry
  sheep 
  ???
  emphasising period technique while also stressing humane and safe 
processes.
   anything else?
