My lord and I had a wonderful time. We did *all* the tourist stuff and
then some. I think my favorite place was the Isabella Stewart Gardner
Museum. A lot of spectacular period artwork to drool over. On our last
night in town, we had the great pleasure of dining and conversing with
Mistress Christianna.
ObFood: Boston has no lack of wonderful restaurants. The best meal
was in a tiny cramped little storefront place in the North End called "The
Daily Catch". Their specialty is calamari. The two ladies sitting next to
us had a large skillet between them, from which emanated heavenly
odors. We asked what it was, and were told it was Lobster Fra Diavolo.
We glanced at the menu, but when the waiter came, we pointed to the
skillet and said, "We'll have that." In addition to an entire lobster, it
contained shrimp, scallops, mussels and clams in a spicy red sauce
over linguini. Although we did our glutonous best, there were still
leftovers when we staggered away from the table. (It is a very good
thing that we walked a LOT while in Boston, or I might have come back
three sizes larger.)
