20 years or so ago, I got a matched set of dark brown glass bottles
(about 1" square and 3" tall) with metal screw lids. Looks like I got 70
or 80 -- from the "Glass Station", first place here in town that
commercially recycled glass containers. I was just starting to
experiment with feast cooking, and buying spices in bulk from the hippy
groceries... about 60 of them are currently in use.

My DH has made dowel and block racks so that these lie on their sides
with the lids out. (one rack of 30 has 3 "shelves" about 4 inches deep,
5 inches tall altogether and maybe 18 inches wide) We have them labeled
on the lids and keep them alphabetically.

They're currently in a small cupboard above the stove (double dark and
not TOO warm). Going to move them into my kitchen book-case (which he
started about 19 years ago and almost has the doors for finished, 8-)),
when the doors are done... Glass for the lower part where the books live,
two solid carved panels for the upper section where the spice jars will
live.
