SC - hypoglycaemia

Hello again!

Said mother-in-law is hypoglycaemic and allergic to wine.  I am/was planning 
to have a small feast while she is here.  Any ideas on what I can serve?  
There is also likely to be a vegetarian at the feast.

Things approximately relevant to the region would be nice, but not 
essential.
