I seriously doubt that my knowledge on the subject of period illumination 
surpasses anybody right now.  I have, after all, only just begun to delve 
into the (fascinating) subject.  As for Balderick, a contact is still a 
contact, regardless of whether he is still selling parchment/vellum or not.  
I am sure I can still pick his brain on the subject.  By the way, 
Stefan...thanks for all of the work you have put into the florilegium, and 
your efforts to point people in the right direction.  You may not realize how 
much a site like yours (and a person like you) helps those who are still in 
the "formative" stages of research.  One big pat on the back for you, and 
everyone else on this list.
