Balthazar,
I followed a link from a real medieval village site to this place, where
they were advertising it as genuine medieval cookery. And they do say
"authentic" medieval food on their website. So, yes, they're misinforming
unwitting tourists. I'm not condemning anyone, nor criticizing anyone for
having fun. I'm just howling because this is happening in Germany, where
people should know better than to serve corn on the cob & call it medieval
cuisine.

A thought:
Why should we expect folks in Germany to "know" what is medieval and what
isn't just because they are from Germany? Do we expect folks who live in
Virginia to "know" what colonists ate? I think we should "expect" that most
people have an idea of what they think is medieval, and it is generally
inaccurate unless they have done research/reading or know someone better
informed than the average person.
I agree that this is silly and perhaps fun (maybe a little better than the
"Medieval Times" found over here in the US) but I wouldn't expect the
average German to know any more than the average US citizen about medieval
cookery.
